Dr. Liz Howerton, DVM, is a compassionate veterinarian from Louisville with a strong passion for emergency medicine and patient care. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in 2017, where she developed a keen interest in fast-paced, critical care environments and the challenges of urgent medical cases.
Dr. Howerton is dedicated to providing attentive, high-quality care when pets need it most. She values clear communication and works closely with pet owners to ensure they feel informed and supported during stressful situations. Her calm, focused approach helps both patients and their families navigate emergency visits with confidence.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Howerton enjoys reading, hiking, and spending quality time with her friends, family, her little boy – and don’t forget her first and best, good-boy Weller.
